Template Editing
Ascad Networks recommends that users edit the program's templates prior to uploading the program's files to your server. To edit the program's templates, please see your owner's manual. Information on the program's different templates is divided by section. For example, information on templates related to tickets is found under section III "Tickets" while information on templates related to live support is found under section V "Live Support".
Each template has a special set of "Caller IDs" that can be used within the template's HTML in order to call certain information. A list of the different caller IDs is listed in the owner's manual. To use these caller IDs, open the template file in any text editor such as notepad and proceed to place the caller ID at the location where you wish the information to appear. You can also use the preset templates as guides when creating your own.
File Uploading
Once you have completed the template editing, proceed to upload the files in accordance with the product's owner's manual. Please be sure to pay very special attention to both uploading modes (ASCII vs Binary) and CHMODs (permissions), as these two aspects of the uploading process tend to cause the most errors with users.
Initial Program Setup
Once the program's files have been uploaded and properly CHMODed, proceed to enter the program's initial setup stage. This is accomplished by pointing your browser to the location of the setup.pl file on your server.
You will be presented with a series of fields that must be filled out to ensure that the program functions properly. Input the required information and proceed to submit the form. The program will begin working and, if successful, you will be redirected to the program staff member login screen.
Update the Program's Options
Log into the control panel using the administrative username and password established during the "Initial Program Setup" stage. Proceed to click the "Options" image link found on the right side of the control panel under the "Edit Personal Options" links.
Edit the options in accordance with the product's owner's manual. As with the program's templates, information on the program's options is scattered throughout the owner's manual based on section. Thus, information on ticket related options will be found in section III of the owner's manual while information on live support related options will be found in section V of the owner's manual.
